Step 01   Step 02

Let's get started!

Create a new image 400 w x 400 h.  Activate the Outline Drawing Tool Outline Drawing Tool and use any color.

Make a 3D heart and apply a realistic wood of your choice.  I used T6 from the easy palette.

Activate the paint brush and be sure to check "paint as object" mode Paint as Object.

Below are the settings I used:
Paint as Object.

Now the fun part begins!  Just Scribble!  See the example to the left.

Looks odd, I know!  Go to Edit~Trace Edges and click Selection Marquee then click OK.

Change the mode to 3D Object and if your wood preset does not show, apply it.

Step 03   Step 04

Paint in object mode as you did above and then proceed to trace edges as above until your grapevine heart has the fullness you desire.

You can change the brush head size to vary the thickness and also do some partial loops in your scribbling as I have done in the example to the left.

Once you have the desired fullness to your grapevine wreath, activate the paint brush and paint in object mode little scribblings using 2 for your brush head size.

Now when you are done with your scribbling, it is time to go to the layer palette and do some cleaning!  Open the layer manager Layer Manager, you will see that every other layer is the black scribbles that you painted.  All you need to do is right click and delete them.

Save your grapevine heart one last time as a ufo for safe keeping.  You may also want to select all, group and drag to your easy palette for future projects as you can add flowers or berries to adorn it for different seasons.

Below are a few samples of what you can create!  Endless possibilities!  Enjoy!
