Step 01

Create a new image 400 w x 400 h.  Activate the Line & Arrow Tool Line & Arrow Tool color set to #663500, shape set to line, mode 2D, line width 4 and line style solid.  Make a 2D line 315 high.

Create a diagonal line 79 wide, right click and duplicate.  Use the transform tool Transform Tool to "flip horizonally".  You now have an "X" shaped stand.

Change the line width to 3 and create 4 diagonal lines (124w, 103w, 81w and 58w) as shown in the image to your left.  When done, hold the shift key on your key board and select each diagonal line, right click, align, space evenly checking vertically and OK.

Right click a second time, select group, then right click again and duplicate.  Use the transform tool Transform Tool to "flip horizontally".

Right click, select all objects, group and in the layer manager label as "tree".

Step 02

Activate the paint brush Paintbrush Tool, set the color to #159315, brush shape on circle, brush head size to 3 an soften paint edges to 2.

Click on the "paint as object" (the lightning bolt icon) and paint pine needles as shown in the image to your left.

Step 03

Click on the "paint as object" to de-activate.  Go to Edit, Trace Edges, Selection Marquee and accept the default settings.

On the attribute tool bar, change the mode setting from horizontal deform to 2D object.  Change the color to #159315 and give it a black border of 1.

In the layer manager, delete the second layer and label the first layer "pines".

Activate the Path Drawing Tool and create a 2D circle 11 diameter, color #C30000 with a 1 width black border.  Duplicate and place your berries throughout the branches of your tree.  Or you can create small ornaments as shown in the samples below.
