Open a new image 200w x 200h and using the Path Drawing Tool create a 2D rounded rectangle 154w x 119h, I used black for the hair. Now draw a white 2D circle 44 in diameter, duplicate it and place as shown in the diagram to your left. Right click merge all, select the white portion with the magic wand, right click invert then go to Edit Trace, Selection Marquee and accept the default. Change the Horizontal Deform to 2D. Using the edit path, curve the top and sides of the hair, add a node in the center for the hairline point and delete the two nodes on each side. As you see in the diagram to your left you can delete a few other unneeded nodes. Once you are pleased with the hair, drag it into place and do any final adjustments. |

Activate the Path Drawing Tool and create a 2D oval 13w x 35h color #DADADA with a black border of 2 for the ear. Now using the edit path create a point at the top of the ear by dragging the top node to the right. I used the Line & Arrow Tool, set to spline, 1 for the line width and with the color #F7F7F7 drew a highlight the length of the ear. Using black draw a curved line and then use the color #676767 to draw a small line to the left of the black line as shown in diagram. When you are pleased, holding the shift key, select your ear pieces, right click, group, then duplicate and use the Transform Tool to "flip horizontally". Use the arrow key on your keyboard to shift the other ear in place. Right click, arrange and send back then holding the shift key, select both ears, group and label them "ears" in your layer manager. |

Create a 2D oval 34w x 17h white with a 1 width black border for the eye. Using the edit path, pull the handles of the side nodes in toward the node to create a point at each side of your oval. Create 2D 17 diameter circle, color #004887 and place in the center of your oval. Create 2D 11 diameter circle, color #2296FF and place in the center of your circle. Create a 7 diameter black circle and place in the center then a 4 diameter white circle and place at the top right of your circles. In your layer manager, hold the shift key and select all your eye parts, right click, group and put them in place. Using the Line & Arrow Tool, set to spline, 1 for the line width, create a curve for the eyelid and one for the eye brow. Remember to duplicate and use the arrow key on your keyboard to place them. When done, change spline to line and create eyelashes then go to the layer manager, select, group and duplicate for the other eye. Reminder: Select both eyes, group and label in your layer manager "eyes". |

Create a 2D oval 27w x 15h using the color #DADADA with a 1 width border; this is the nose. Use the Line & Arrow Tool, set to spline, color #F7F7F7, to add a highlight. Group in your layer manager and label "nose". Create a 2D circle 23 dia, color #C30000 with a 1 width black border for the cheek then a 2D circle 17 dia, color #FF1515 and place to the top left of the previous circle. Use the Line & Arrow Tool, set to spline, color #FFD5D5, to add a small highlight. Group in your layer manager, duplicate and place cheeks. With the Line & Arrow Tool set to spline, color black, create a line for the mouth that runs cheek to cheek. Create a white triangle, "flip vertically" with the Transform Tool and use the edit path to shape the fang. When done, use the Transform Tool and "flip horizontally" placing on the opposite side, you may need to use the edit path for some adjusting. Using custom shape B25, color #DADADA, create a shape 15w x 46h, using the Transform Tool set to "rotate freely" place it along the top of the hair. Use the edit path tool to shape. When happy with results, duplicate, "flip horizontally" and place on the opposite side of the hair. Now you are done with the head, you may want to do a final save to your ufo and drag to your easy palette before proceeding forward. |
